Purpose
The Women, Infants & Children (WIC) Program is a federally funded program designed to provide nutritious food and nutrition education to low income pregnant, postpartum or breastfeeding women; infants and children to age five. Breastfeeding support is available from a WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor or Lactation Educator.

Availability
There are two locations to access WIC services – The Stanly Commons in Albemarle and West Stanly Christian Ministries in Stanfield.
WIC services are available at the Stanly Commons (1000 N. First St., Suite 3, Albemarle) Monday through Thursday 8:30am-12noon and 1:00pm-4:00pm and Friday 8:30am -12noon and 1:00pm-3:00pm. Please note that the Albemarle WIC office is closed from 12noon -1:00pm every day for lunch.
WIC services are available at the West Stanly Christian Ministries location in Stanfield (211 W. Stanly St., Stanfield) every Tuesday 9am-4pm. (Due to COVID-19 pandemic, WIC services are not currently available at West Stanly Christian Ministries location.)
Certifications are by appointment only. To make an appointment for the Albemarle or Stanfield location, call 704-986-3003 or 704-986-3004. Call Monday-Friday beginning at 8:00am to schedule an appointment for certification. No appointment is needed for pick-ups.
